What Should I Expect at CCOTV?
We are a blended church family that come from all walks of life. There are seniors and youth, new believers, mature believers, and those who are simply just interested in learning more about our faith. We have “year rounders”, seasonal folk, and those who are just “popping in” for a Sunday while on vacation. No matter where you’re at in life, all are welcome.
We do our best to blend both contemporary and traditional elements in our worship service. A live band plays contemporary worship music and old hymns. We often recite the Nicene Creed or the Apostles’ Creed, and we confess our sins together through a congregational confession. We partake of the Lord’s Supper on the last Sunday of the month.
We teach from the Bible, God’s Word, and believe it is the truth that has the power to change lives. We typically preach through entire books of the Bible because we believe it helps us see the whole picture. The congregational pastor, Jacob Tedder, primarily preaches but we have gifted elders who routinely preach as well. We are a church that does not revolve around one human individual, rather, we believe everyone has a gift to use for the glory of Christ. We believe the Bible is holy, inspired, inerrant and still relevant today.
At our core, we are Bible believing, community centered, family-oriented church that wants to see the Cashiers and Highlands area know Jesus. In a dark world, we believe that only the light of Christ can reveal true life.
Questions & Answers
Is Childcare Provided?
Yes! Children are welcome to participate in the service, or, they can go to children’s church after we are done singing. The children’s room is located in the back of the church. The kids do crafts, play, and are given a lesson from Scripture.
We also have a baby room with a live-streamed service, also located in the back of the church. It is stocked with diapers, cleaning supplies, and snacks.
All volunteers have passed background checks. Interested in volunteering? Please contact Ashley at: ashleydobbins0917@gmail.com
Do Students Meet Sundays?
We currently do not have Middle or High School programs. Older students are welcome to participate in the church service.
What Should I Wear?
You are welcome to dress in any attire you desire. Some people are very casual, while others are more dressy and traditional. Due to being a non-denominational church, we have many different people from different backgrounds: Catholics, Baptists, Presbyterians, Episcopalians, and more, all worship at our church. We rejoice in this and are grateful that many people from different backgrounds all worship the same God in the same building.
Do I need to Check in?
Parents who are planning on having their children attend children’s church will need to check in with our children’s ministry volunteers. Please let them know if your children have any allergies or have any specials needs.
Where Should I Park?
You are welcome to park in front, beside, or behind the church, although in the summer it can be crowded. You can also park in the large parking lot at the shops across the street.
Do You Meet During the Week?
Yes! We have seasonal Wednesday night study. We have dinner and childcare provided.
We also have a seasonal Women’s small group meetings at the church.
We also have other small groups that meet in different communities in the Cashiers Area.
We also have Country Club studies. We currently have leaders doing studies in the Burlingame and Wildcat country clubs. If you are a member of a club and are looking to start a small group in your club, please reach out to Jacob at Jacob@cashiers.church.
